Meeting new people, safely
Joinsy is for friends and plans, not dating. These are built in from day one.
18+ only
Everyone enters their birth date at sign-up, and under-18s can't join. If a report or a selfie review suggests an account belongs to someone under 18, we suspend it.
Selfie verification
Selfie verification helps check that a person matches their profile photos: a moderator compares them. Verified profiles get a badge.
Public places only
Quick plans meet in public places, and plan details can't include phone numbers, links or home addresses.
Settings for women
Women can choose to get connection requests only from women and non-binary people.
Live location, only when you want
Share where you are with one plan's chat. It stops by itself.
Report and block in two taps
Every report goes to our moderation queue, and reports about safety or minors are reviewed first.

Questions
Is Joinsy free?
Yes, the beta is free. Events, quick plans, travel mode, chat and every safety tool are free. Later we plan an optional Joinsy Premium (see everyone who's shared that they're going to an event, no weekly limit on new connection requests, profile boosts). Premium isn't for sale during the beta.
Is it a dating app?
No. Joinsy is for finding friends and people to do things with: concerts, dinners, a run, a museum, a new city.
When does the beta start?
The closed beta starts in Los Angeles. We invite people in small groups by email. The other cities don't have a date yet; when the beta opens in yours, we'll email you.
My city isn't on the list. Can I still join?
Yes. Pick "Somewhere else" when you sign up and we'll email you if Joinsy opens near you. Travel mode lets you explore events in any city that's on Joinsy.
How do you match me with events and people?
From your Social DNA: the interests you pick, the events you save and go to, and where you are. You can see why something is a match.
How do I get the app?
When it's your turn, we email you a personal invite link. Opening it confirms your place and shows how to install the beta on your phone.
Will I get a confirmation email?
No. "You're on the list" on this page is your confirmation, and the next email from us is your invite. To be removed from the list, email kaan@joinsyapp.com.
What happens to my data?
We use it to run Joinsy and never sell it. You can hide your profile details, and delete your account and data from the app at any time. See the privacy page for the beta sign-up.
